The Schlumberger CUVÉE 1842 Reserve Brut 2015 is a superb Austrian quality sparkling wine that epitomises uncompromising craftsmanship, exceptional maturity and the utmost precision. Produced by the long-established Schlumberger house, this cuvée is consistently made using the traditional bottle-fermentation method and ranks among Austria’s most expressive reserve sparkling wines. The grapes come from selected Lager with deep, calcareous loam and loess soils, which lend the wine its distinct minerality and structure.


The cuvée consists of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, which are harvested exclusively by hand. Whole-bunch pressing, along with fermentation and ageing in wooden barrels on the fine lees, ensure depth, elegance and precise balance. The tirage takes place several months after the harvest, after which the sparkling wine matures on the lees in the bottle for at least 50 months. With an alcohol content of 12 per cent, the 2015 vintage is powerful, yet finely structured and exceptionally complex. Bottled in the classic 0.75-litre bottle, this Reserve Brut Cuvée epitomises enduring elegance, ageing potential and international class.

Tasting Note

In the glass, it displays a radiant golden-yellow colour. On the nose, notes of citrus fruits, vanilla and delicate spice unfold. With a little aeration, subtle barrique hints and nuances of yellow fruit emerge. On the palate, this sparkling wine is precise, with a fine perlage, a powerful structure and pronounced minerality. Subtle yeast notes blend harmoniously with salty accents. The finish is long-lasting, elegant and complex.
