The Macallan A Night On Earth is a single malt Scotch whisky first released in 2021 by The Macallan Distillery in Scotland. As a tribute to the Scottish New Year’s Eve celebration, Hogmanay, this whisky was bottled in collaboration with the illustrator Erica Dorn. This whisky is produced using a selection of sherry casks made from American and European oak, as well as American ex-bourbon casks, to preserve its rich, sweet and bready character.

The multi-layered gift box features Erica Dorn’s bespoke abstract designs, with the colours reflecting the story of New Year’s Eve. The red symbolises the fire kindled by the traditional Scottish ‘first lighting’ with coal, as well as the good fortune, success, joy and vitality associated with this celebration. The blue on the inside depicts the night sky on Hogmanay and the colour of the Scottish national flag.

Tasting Note

Colour: Amber.

Nose: Fruity, with notes of vanilla, baked apples, prunes and toasted almonds.

Palate: Smooth, fruity, with notes of vanilla, figs, dried plums, cinnamon, cardamom, caramelised sugar and toffee.

Finish: Long-lasting, caramel.
