Plantation Rums have long since ceased to be an insider’s tip. These excellent rums are sourced mainly from the Caribbean and South America, and are then brought to France, where they are given their finishing touches. In Ars, France, the rum is subsequently stored for several months in small, decommissioned oak Cognac casks. This method of maturation is known as ‘double ageing’, a technique that was already in use in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Plantation Rum Panama Single Cask White Pineau des Charentes Finish 2008 is aged for 12 years in bourbon casks and then for one year in FERRAND casks. This rum receives its finish in White Pineau des Charentes casks.

Tasting Note

Colour: Amber.

Nose: Intense, fruity, with notes of lilac, Linde blossom, vine blossom, apricot, peach, plum, honey, almonds and vanilla.

Palate: Fresh, sweet, with notes of orange, fig, quince, hazelnut, cinnamon and pepper.

Finish: Long-lasting.
