The Beronia winery was founded in 1973 and is picturesquely situated on the outskirts of Ollauri, just a few kilometres south-east of Haro, the capital of the Rioja Alta region in Spain. The grapes used to produce these first-class wines come from the estate’s own ten-hectare vineyards, which are lined with vines over 50 years old and surround the winery. In addition, Beronia sources grapes from carefully selected winegrowers who together own around 550 hectares of vineyards in the surrounding municipalities of the Rioja region. The soils are characterised by clay and limestone, and the microclimate in this area is particularly favourable, creating ideal conditions for growing grapes of the highest quality.

Beronia Rioja Crianza is a fine red wine blend, comprising 91% Tempranillo, 8% Garnacha Tinta and 1% Mazuela. Following a careful harvest, this wine is aged for 12 months in French and American oak barriques, which give it its characteristic structure and subtle oaky notes.

The wine is then gently bottled and sealed with a natural cork to best preserve its freshness and elegance.

Tasting Note

Ruby red in the glass. On the nose, very pleasant notes of red forest fruits, cocoa and chocolate. Juicy and fruity on the palate, with a wonderful fullness. A long-lasting finish.

Serving temperature: 16 °C

This Beronia pairs superbly with veal and pesto.
