Loch Lomond Spearhead Single Grain Scotch Whisky is an innovative and modern take on a Scottish single grain whisky, which impresses with its exceptional craftsmanship and innovative maturation methods. Produced at the historic Loch Lomond Distillery, this whisky sets new standards in the grain whisky category.

The foundation of this smooth, expressive whisky is malted barley, which is fermented for 92 hours before being distilled in a Coffey still. This meticulous process ensures a particularly mild and elegant character that sets it apart from conventional grain whiskies. The Spearhead is then initially matured in ex-bourbon casks made of American oak, before undergoing a six-month finish in a combination of traditional and infrared-toasted casks. This innovative cask finishing intensifies the aromas of vanilla, caramel and sweet oak, creating a perfect balance between sweetness and spice.

With an alcohol content of 43% vol., the Loch Lomond Spearhead offers a harmonious tasting experience that delights both whisky connoisseurs and newcomers alike. It is excellent when enjoyed neat, but also comes into its own in modern whisky cocktails.

Tasting Note

Colour: Pale gold with warm amber highlights.

Nose: Sweet vanilla, caramel, honey, fresh apples, toasted oak and subtle spices.

Palate: Creamy and smooth, with notes of toffee, butter biscuits, candied fruit and delicate spice.

Finish: Medium-length, harmonious and smooth, with hints of oak, chocolate and toasted almonds.

The Loch Lomond Spearhead Single Grain is delightful both neat and in creative cocktails. Its gentle, sweet notes pair perfectly with light chocolate, caramelised nuts or butter biscuits.
