Glenfiddich 50 Years Old TIME SERIES 2020 is an exceptional whisky that embodies the tradition of the Glenfiddich Distillery. Produced using the same method as that employed in 1887 when the distillery first opened, this 50-year-old single malt is the result of a process spanning decades, during which only the finest casks were selected.

This whisky consists of a blend of three American oak casks that matured in the same warehouse. The first began maturing in 1966, the other two in 1968. Following constant monitoring, only three casks were selected that had reached the required age for further maturation. In 2018, the casks were blended and transferred to refill casks before being bottled in 2020.

The packaging reflects the whisky’s unique character: climate data from the last 50 years, collected at the maturation site, was incorporated into the design of the aluminium case. Data artist Manuel Jiménez Garcia used this data to create a striking 3D structure that reflects the climatic conditions.

Tasting Note

Colour: A deep, warm gold with a slight amber sheen.

Nose: Complex aromas of aged wood and dried fruit such as figs and plums, complemented by spicy notes of cinnamon and cloves, and a delicate hint of vanilla.

Palate: Full-bodied and rounded, with intense notes of dried fruit, caramel, honey and a subtle oakiness, accompanied by warm spices and a hint of spiciness.

Finish: Long-lasting and smooth, with an elegant spiciness and a sweet, fruity note that lingers gently on the palate.

The Glenfiddich 50 Years Old is ideal for drinking neat, to fully experience the complexity and depth of this 50-year-old whisky. It pairs perfectly with mature cheeses such as Comté, Gruyère or Roquefort, as well as dark chocolate or fruity desserts such as crème brûlée. You can also enjoy this whisky as an after-dinner drink with a fine cigar to perfectly complement the flavours.
