Huckleberry Gin Liqueur is the result of an extraordinary friendship and a creative idea that was born one legendary evening over a glass of gin and tonic. Max and Jens, the founders of Huckleberry Gin, wanted more than just an idea – they wanted to create a unique gin inspired by their friendship. A friend eventually brought his uncle into the picture, who runs a third-generation distillery in the Black Forest. Another creative friend designed the label, whose freehand illustration gives the gin its unique character.

This gin liqueur is lovingly triple-distilled by hand and contains 22 carefully selected botanicals, which are responsible for its distinctive aroma. The gin is based on classic ingredients such as juniper berries, angelica root, coriander seeds, ginger root, cinnamon and a hint of lavender, which give it its characteristic flavour. To add a fruity note, lemon peel, elderflower, hop cones, peppermint and raspberries are also included. Particularly noteworthy is the gin’s signature botanical, the blueberry, which rounds off the gin during the final distillation and gives it an unmistakable fruitiness. In the gin liqueur, the blueberry is blended even more closely with the gin, giving it a natural sweetness and a deep red colour.

Tasting Note

Colour: Deep red with purple highlights.

Nose: Fresh aromas of blueberries, lavender and a delicate citrus note, accompanied by a subtle minty freshness and a hint of spices.

Palate: Smooth and fruity, with a pronounced blueberry note, complemented by raspberries, peppermint and a hint of spice. A gentle hint of cinnamon and lavender rounds off the flavour perfectly.

Finish: Long and sweet, with a pleasant fruity aftertaste accompanied by fresh berries and a hint of sweetness.

Huckleberry Gin Liqueur is excellent served neat or on the rocks to fully enjoy the natural flavours of the blueberries. It also combines wonderfully in cocktails such as a Gin Fizz or Gin and Tonic, harmonising particularly well with tonic water, which enhances the fruity and sweet notes. The liqueur also pairs perfectly with fruity desserts such as cheesecake, meringue tarts or even chocolate desserts.
