Nikka BLACK Rich Blend is a harmonious, smooth and elegant blended whisky from Japan, characterised by its balanced flavour and approachable character. It comes from Nikka Whisky, one of Japan’s leading whisky producers, founded by Masataka Taketsuru – the ‘father of Japanese whisky’. The BLACK range is one of the company’s most successful bottlings on the domestic market and was designed specifically for everyday enjoyment.

The Rich Blend incorporates malt whiskies from both Yoichi (bold, smoky) and Miyagikyo (fruity, floral). These are combined with fine grain whisky, resulting in a smooth, well-rounded profile. Some of the malts have been matured in sherry casks, lending the blend additional depth and sweet, fruity notes. With a moderate alcohol content of 40 % vol., this whisky is particularly pleasant to drink – neat, on the rocks or in a cocktail.

Tasting Note

Colour: Golden yellow with a slight amber sheen.

Nose: Smooth and well-balanced with notes of vanilla, honey, ripe apples, malt and a hint of dried fruit.

Palate: Mild and smooth with flavours of caramel, grain, light fruits and a hint of oaky spice.

Finish: Short to medium-length, sweet and delicate with a subtle malty note.
