Liam Hughes and Mike Hayward set themselves the goal of bringing the tradition of single malt whisky distillation back to Glasgow, and founded “The Glasgow Distillery Company Ltd”. This name pays tribute to one of Scotland’s first licensed distilleries, which was established as early as 1770. Operating under various names over the years, the original Glasgow Distillery Company produced a wide range of whiskies – including unpeated, peated and triple-distilled single malts – until it closed in 1902.

With the founding of the new distillery, the realisation of its mission – to firmly re-establish the production of high-quality spirits in Glasgow – is now underway.

Glasgow 1770 Triple Distilled Single Malt captivates with its smoothness and vitality, which make it unique. It is crafted from a selection of the finest concert barley and the purest water from Loch Katrine. Following a fermentation period of over 72 hours, the spirit undergoes triple distillation in copper stills, which removes the heavier oils and results in a particularly light spirit. Maturation in ex-bourbon and American oak casks imparts a fruity and bright character.

Bottled at 46 per cent, unfiltered and in its natural colour, this whisky is exceptionally harmonious.

Tasting Note

Colour: Brilliant amber.

Nose: Fruity aromas, cherries, caramel, toffee, almonds, liquorice, vanilla, tea leaves.

Palate: Smooth and harmonious, ripe pears, vanilla, cheesecake, chocolate.

Finish: Long-lasting, clean, honey, vanilla.
