The first site of the Loch Lomond Distillery was established in 1814 at the northern end of Loch Lomond, near Tarbet. The distillery as it stands today was founded in 1965 by the former owners of the Littlemill Distillery, a few miles away from Glasgow.

Master Blender Michael Henry is in charge of the distillery. Michael grew up alongside two distilleries and thus developed a passion for distilling and brewing whisky from an early age. He has been the Master Blender at the Loch Lomond Distillery since 2014.

The Loch Lomond Distillery’s ‘Remarkable Stills Series’ features some of the oldest and rarest spirits ever produced by the distillery.

The Loch Lomond 46 Years Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is the second release in the Remarkable Stills series. The whisky is aged for 44 years in American oak casks. It is then finished for two years in a combination of first-fill Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks.

Tasting Note

Colour: Brilliant amber.

Nose: Fruity, sweet, notes of toffee, caramelised sugar, roses, peaches, mangoes, vanilla syrup.

Palate: Fresh, rich, with flavours of ripe pears, fresh orange zest, sweet melted brown sugar, cinnamon, cloves, raisins and sultanas.

Finish: Long-lasting.
