Douglas Laing has updated the name of its well-known Island Blended Malt bottling from ‘Rock Oyster’ to ‘Rock Island’, without altering the award-winning contents. Rock Island combines selected single malts from the Scottish islands of Islay, Arran, Jura and Orkney, lending it distinctive smoky notes, sweetness and maritime aromas. As part of the Remarkable Regional Malts series, Rock Island symbolises the diversity and quality of Scotland’s malt whisky regions.

The design of the Rock Island whisky bottles is characterised by the striking motif of the classic Rock Island oyster and the agave plant. Highlighted by light, vibrant colours and embellished with gold foil, the design embodies the perfect summer feeling and emphasises the whisky’s uniqueness. A special feature of this whisky is its second maturation phase in ex-mezcal casks, which lends it an exceptional character and makes it unmistakable.

Limited to 1,500 bottles.

Tasting Note

Colour: Pale yellow.

Nose: Fruity, spicy, sea salt, Mexican agave, gooseberries, floral notes.

Finish: Elegant, fruity with hints of citrus, blackberries and honeycomb.
