The Fernando de Castilla Pedro Ximénez Antique is a luxurious, sweet sherry with an alcohol content of 15 % vol., presented in an elegant gift box and part of the house’s prestigious Antique Linie. Made from sun-dried Pedro Ximénez grapes, this sherry showcases the very best of this grape variety: deep in colour, intense, complex and velvety in body. The combination of natural sweetness, decades of ageing and artisanal precision makes it one of the great classics amongst the dessert wines of Jerez.

After harvesting, the grapes are dried for several days under the Andalusian sun to concentrate their sugar content. They are then gently aged in old oak casks using the traditional Solera system, which gives the sherry its dense texture, aromatic depth and elegant maturity. Pedro Ximénez Antique is a true feast for the senses – opulent, smooth and expressive.

Tasting Note

In the glass, the sherry displays an impenetrable mahogany brown colour with an oily sheen. The bouquet is intense and complex, with aromas of raisins, figs, dates, toffee, cocoa, coffee and balsamic notes. On the palate, it is very sweet, velvety and concentrated, with a full body, fine balance and a long-lasting, aromatic finish with hints of liquorice, black tea and dark chocolate. A sherry with a monumental structure and a silky mouthfeel.

Perfect as a dessert on its own, or paired with blue cheese, crème brûlée, chocolate desserts, nut cake or vanilla ice cream with caramelised walnuts. Also ideal for enhancing sauces, drizzled over ice cream or as an accompaniment to cigars.
