Balcones TEXAS Single Malt Whisky Classic Edition is a distinctive American single malt whisky from Texas, which combines the tradition of classic malt whisky production with the unique style of the American distillery Balcones. Unlike many American whiskies, Balcones has deliberately opted for pot-still distillation for this single malt. Pot stills from the renowned Scottish manufacturer Forsyths are used for this purpose. Tasting Note

Colour: Deep amber.

Nose: Ripe stone fruits, banana and pear mingle with butter, honey and rose water, complemented by a subtle citrus note.

Palate: Silky and full-bodied with notes of lightly toasted bread, fresh butter and fruity jam, underpinned by a robust malt base.

Finish: Long-lasting with notes of toast and caramelised sugar, followed by intense malt and spicy oak.

At 53%, Balcones Texas Single Malt Whisky is excellent enjoyed neat with a few drops of water, allowing the robust fruit, malt and oak notes to open up further. Served over a large ice cube, it develops a more approachable character that dilutes slowly. Culinary pairings include grilled beef, strong hard cheeses, roasted nuts or desserts featuring caramel and dark chocolate, which complement its intense profile well.
