The single malt was distilled in 1989 at The Macallan in Speyside, Scotland, and has been matured for decades. At the heart of this is sherry cask No. 6690, whose influence has played a decisive role in shaping the character of this exclusive vintage bottling. The whisky was not bottled by Samaroli until 2022, meaning there were approximately 33 years between distillation and bottling. Tasting Note

Colour: Dark gold to amber.

Nose: Fruity and sweet with ripe fruit, delicate honey and elegant hints of sherry, accompanied by subtle spice.

Palate: Silky and creamy with honey, vanilla pods and ripe pears, complemented by heather, liquorice and harmonious spice.

Finish: Long-lasting and elegant, with delicate sweetness, ripe fruit and a subtle lingering spiciness.

Due to its age and rarity, the Samaroli Magnifico Macallan 1989 should ideally be served neat at room temperature. A whisky glass that tapers towards the top helps to enhance the concentrated perception of its complex aromas. A few drops of still water may be added if desired, whilst ice or use in cocktails are less recommended for this limited edition bottling. In terms of food pairings, dark chocolate, roasted nuts or delicate dried-fruit biscuits are suitable, although with this rare vintage single malt, the unadulterated enjoyment of the whisky is clearly the main focus.
