Plantation Rums have long since ceased to be an insider’s tip. These excellent rums are sourced mainly from the Caribbean and also from South America, and are then brought to France, where they are given their finishing touches. In Ars, France, the rum is subsequently aged for several months in small, decommissioned oak cognac casks. This method of ageing is known as ‘double ageing’, a technique that was already in use in the 18th and 19th centuries.

This rum is a traditional pot still rum that undergoes a two-week fermentation process. The rum is aged for 8 years in ex-bourbon casks. For the final 2 years, it is finished in the cool cellars of the Château de Bonbonnet in used Ferrand casks.

Tasting Note

Colour: Amber.

Nose: Intense, complex, fresh, with notes of fruit and wood.

Palate: Fruity, with notes of banana, peach, plum, cloves, cinnamon, vanilla, pastry, mint, roasted coffee and almonds.

Finish: Long-lasting.
