The Loch Lomond Peated Floral & Smoky Single Grain 46% ABV 0.7 l + GB is a unique whisky that combines the characteristic smokiness of the Loch Lomond Distillery with floral and sweet notes. The history of this renowned distillery dates back to 1814, when the first site was established at the northern end of Loch Lomond, near Tarbet. The distillery as it stands today was founded in 1965 by the former owners of the Littlemill Distillery, just a few miles from Glasgow. Under the experienced guidance of Master Blender Michael Henry, who has held the role since 2014, whiskies with a distinctive profile and exceptional quality are produced here.

This peated single grain whisky is unique in that it is made exclusively from heavily peated, malted barley – a style that is rather unusual for single grain whiskies. Maturation takes place in a combination of American first-fill and refill bourbon casks, creating a harmonious balance between intense smokiness, sweet vanilla and subtle spice. With an alcohol content of 46% vol., this whisky offers a multi-layered flavour profile that appeals to both lovers of peaty smoke and connoisseurs of milder notes.

Tasting Note

Colour: Golden amber, clear and bright.

Nose: Smoky peaty notes, accompanied by floral undertones, vanilla and a hint of honey.

Palate: Malty and sweet, with a balanced combination of peaty smoke, caramelised nuts and subtle fruity notes.

Finish: Long and pleasantly warming, with lingering smoke, oaky spice and a delicate sweetness.

This whisky is an excellent accompaniment to tangy cheese, smoked meat or dark chocolate. Alternatively, it can add an exciting smoky note to a classic whisky sour. For a special tasting experience, we recommend pairing it with grilled seafood or a fine cigar.
