Description
Description
Unofficially, the Ardbeg distillery has been distilling since 1794 - in 1815, the distillery was bought by John McDougall and officially opened under the name Ardbeg.
"Ardbeg" comes from the Gaelic and translates as "little hill".
The distillery is located on the south coast of the Islay whisky region.
Dr Bill Lumsden, Director of Distilling, presents this new permanent bottling from Ardbeg; a small series that is released annually.
Ardbeg TRAIGHT BHAN Batch No. 4 is a 19-year-old whisky and the latest bottling in the outstanding Ardbeg range, which is matured for the most part in Oloroso sherry casks. This whisky is bottled under a full moon, which gives it an intense and aromatic flavour.
