The Macallan M 2022 is one of The Macallan’s darkest bottlings. The bottle, designed in collaboration with Fabien Baron and Lalique, takes the form of an expressive decanter crafted from black crystal. Lalique, one of France’s leading crystal glass manufacturers, and Fabien Baron, Creative Director of the Baron & Baron brand, contributed their expertise to the design.

As The Macallan is constantly refining its whiskies, this whisky has developed greater depth than most of the smoky Macallans produced previously. The distillates used for The Macallan are carefully selected by hand, and the whisky is matured in ex-sherry casks chosen by The Macallan’s Master of Wood. It is this special maturation process that gives The Macallan M Black its pleasant and natural flavours.

This Macallan Decanter Series embodies the very essence of Macallan and is limited to 1,895 bottles. The Master of Wood and the Whisky Mastery Team ensure that every cask meets the highest standards.

Tasting Note

Colour: Natural amber.

Nose: Sweet notes of black cherries, Demerara sugar, oaky aromas, leather, hints of vanilla and chocolate.

Palate: Herbal notes, liquorice, tea leaves, chocolate, woody aromas.

Finish: Long-lasting, with dried fruit and dark chocolate.
