The Glenfiddich Perpetual Collection VAT 02 Rich & Dark is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky that is matured entirely in European oak casks previously filled with sherry. A distinctive feature of this bottling is the Solera process employed by Glenfiddich. Following cask maturation, the whiskies are blended together in the eponymous Solera Vat 2. With each bottling, only around half of the whisky is drawn from the vat and then topped up with new whisky. Part of the previous blend therefore remains in the vat at all times and becomes part of the next batch. This ongoing process is designed to create additional depth, complexity and continuity over time, and forms the central concept of the Glenfiddich Perpetual Collection.


At 43 per cent, the Glenfiddich VAT 02 Rich & Dark is presented in a generous 1-litre bottle, complete with a gift box. Tasting Note

Colour: Dark gold with walnut-coloured highlights.

Nose: Full-bodied and lively with spices and oak, accompanied by notes of toasted white bread, jam and unusual hints of old leather and parchment.

Palate: Smooth and silky with a pleasant sweetness and distinctive Spanish oak spice, complex and with evolving aromas.

Finish: Deep, smooth and harmonious, with lingering spicy and oaky nuances.
