The Tipperary Boutique Selection RIOJA WINE Cask Release 2017 is an exceptional Irish single malt whisky which develops an unrivalled variety of flavours through its maturation in carefully selected Rioja wine casks. With an alcohol content of 50% vol. and presented in a 0.7-litre bottle, it is one of the exclusive bottlings from the Tipperary Distillery, which is renowned for its small but high-quality batches.

This single malt is made from Irish barley and distilled using traditional methods. What sets it apart is its secondary maturation in hand-selected Rioja wine casks, which lend it not only a unique range of flavours but also a deep golden colour with reddish highlights. The fruitiness and subtle tannins from the red wine casks provide a special depth and balance, making this whisky a real highlight.

Tasting Note

Colour: Rich gold with reddish hues.

Nose: Fruity and complex with notes of red berries, dark cherry and a hint of vanilla and oak.

Palate: Full-bodied with a harmonious blend of sweet honey, dark fruits and subtle spices. The Rioja barrel ageing lends it a refined, dry elegance with hints of chocolate and nuts.

Finish: Long and warm, with lingering fruity notes and a hint of oaky spice.

Thanks to its intense fruitiness and elegant cask maturation, this whisky is ideal for enjoying neat, preferably with a few drops of water to allow its flavours to unfold to the full. Culinary pairings include grilled meat, tangy hard cheese or dark chocolate, which perfectly complement its deep flavours. It also comes into its own in exclusive cocktails, such as a whisky Manhattan infused with red wine, where its unique character really shines through.
