The philosophy behind Plantation Rum:

The exclusive Plantation Rums are rare treasures from independent distilleries, most of which are situated amongst their own sugar cane fields and produce rum using their own traditional methods. Distillation methods vary depending on the plantation and country of origin. Distillation in a ‘still’ produces smooth, aromatic rums, whilst ‘column stills’ yield light, elegant rums.

The plantation’s freshly cut sugar cane is pressed to extract the juice, which is either gently heated to produce molasses or fermented directly into sugar cane juice, known as ‘vesou’. These ingredients are then placed in the stills traditional to each country.

Plantation Rum BLACK CASK Barbados & Cuba Rum is a unique blend. The rums are initially aged for several years in 200-litre bourbon casks from Barbados and Cuba. They are then shipped to France to continue ageing in small, toasted Ferrand casks.

Tasting Note

Colour: Mahogany.

Nose: Intense, fresh, with notes of apricots and lemons.

Palate: Intensely sweet and spicy, with notes of pastries, apricots, lemons, nutmeg, vanilla and oak.

Finish: Long-lasting.

A wonderful rum for sipping, but also a perfect ingredient for a classic cocktail.
