The Glenmorangie Distillery, founded in 1843 in the Scottish Highlands near Tain, is famous for its exquisite single malt Scotch whiskies. These are distilled in Scotland’s tallest stills, resulting in a particularly refined and mellow spirit. Glenmorangie is renowned for its innovative cask-finishing technique, which involves maturing whiskies in various types of casks, such as port, sherry and wine casks, giving them a unique depth of flavour.

Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban is an exquisite single malt that derives its distinctive character from careful finishing in port casks. These casks come from Quinta, a renowned Portuguese wine estate known for its high-quality port wines. The name ‘Ruban’ is derived from the Gaelic word for ruby and refers to the deep, ruby-red colour the whisky takes on during its time in the port casks.

After initially maturing for ten years in ex-bourbon casks, the whisky spends a further four years in these port casks, which imparts additional complexity and rich fruity notes. This method of secondary maturation not only gives Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban its characteristic colour, but also a rich, multi-layered aroma. This whisky is bottled without chill filtration.
