Sol Tarasco 8 Years Old Añejo is an exceptional Charanda rum from Mexico, which impresses with its provenance, ageing and artisanal quality. Produced in the Michoacán region, this rum is based on the Protected Designation of Origin ‘Charanda’, a special sugarcane spirit that may only be produced in this highland area under traditional conditions. The name ‘Charanda’ comes from the Purépecha language and refers to the volcanic soil that gives the sugarcane its distinctive flavour.

This Añejo is aged for eight years in selected oak casks, which lends it impressive depth, aromatic complexity and subtle woody notes. The combination of high altitude, craftsmanship and natural ageing makes Sol Tarasco a rare speciality, regarded as an insider’s tip amongst connoisseurs. It is produced by the long-established Destiladora de Michoacán, renowned for its authentic and unadulterated spirits.

Tasting Note

Colour: Dark amber with a coppery sheen.

Finish: Long, spicy and well-balanced with subtle wood notes and a hint of sweetness.
