A selection of the finest rums from the Indochinese Peninsula, which encompasses parts of Laos, Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia.
In 1939, the government of Siam decided to rename the country ‘Thailand’, until the name was changed back following the adoption of a new constitution, with the name finally being corrected to Thailand in 1949.
Molasses produced from the distillery’s own sugar cane, a five-stage distillation process in column stills, and ageing in ex-American bourbon casks lend the Siam Edition its incomparably complex and spicy, woody character.
To ensure a constant temperature, the storage room is located underground, with the ‘Angels’ Share’ amounting to between 7 and 9 per cent per year. The casks are decanted several times and topped up with rum of the same age until the rum is bottled following its 10-year maturation.
Tasting Note
Colour: Amber.
Nose: Spicy, sweet, brown sugar, hints of wood.
Palate: Spicy, sweet, candied fruit, hints of vanilla, oak and tobacco.
Finish: Long-lasting.
