The Tomintoul Distillery, situated in the Scottish Highlands within the Cairngorms National Park and named after the nearby village of Tomintoul, opened its doors in 1964 and is now owned by Angus Dundee Distillers.

Situated at an altitude of 370 metres above sea level, Tomintoul is Scotland’s second-highest distillery, surpassed only by the Braeval Distillery, which was founded in 1973. Although the majority of the 3.2 million litres of alcohol produced annually is exported to the United States for use in blends, Tomintoul regularly releases special single-cask bottlings.

Tomintoul’s Small Batch Cask Finish range is a no-age-statement series that stands out for its finish in a wide variety of casks. This whisky is initially matured in bourbon casks and then receives its characteristic finish in Caribbean rum casks, which gives it an unmistakable flavour.

Tasting Note

Colour: Warm gold.

Nose: Fresh, with notes of raspberries and coconut oil.

Palate: Sweet, toffee, nougat, coconut.

Finish: Long-lasting.
