The history of this brandy stretches far back: as early as the 10th century, during the reign of King Gagik I of the Bagratuni dynasty, a magnificent residence was built on Akhtamar Island. The island’s name derives from the tragic legend of Princess Tamar, whose lover drowned in Lake Van whilst desperately hearing her final words: ‘Ah, Tamar’. This moving story is deeply rooted in Armenian culture and is reflected in the elegance and depth of this fine brandy.
