The Polz Winery, situated in southern Styria, Austria, is distinguished by its ideal wine-growing location. Founded in 1896, it enjoys a reputation for producing high-quality wines, thanks to optimal climatic conditions and specific soil characteristics. Under the leadership of the fourth generation, the winery strives to preserve its heritage and continue the family tradition with a strong focus on sustainability. Responsible for the cellar and winemaking, Christoph Polz relies on meticulous manual work and selective grape harvesting, which underlines the quality of the wines.

This white wine, made from the Grauer Burgunder grape variety, undergoes a careful ageing process of 9 months in wooden barrels, which gives it a complex structure and delicate aromas. It has ageing potential until 2030, allowing it to develop greater depth of flavour over the years. The Polz Grauer Burgunder is sealed with a screw cap.

Tasting Note

A radiant medium greenish-yellow colour in the glass. On the nose, fruity notes of ripe stone fruit, saffron pastries and nuts. On the palate, elegant, full-bodied and juicy, with ripe stone fruit, saffron pastries and nutty notes. A long-lasting finish.

Acidity: 6.3 g/l

Residual sugar: 2.6 g/l

Serving temperature: 10–12 °C

An excellent accompaniment to mussels and shellfish.
