Bambarria Blanco Jalapeño is a flavoured agave spirit from Mexico that combines traditional agave character with the distinctive flavour of jalapeño. Bambarria is produced and bottled by the multi-award-winning Casa Maestri Distillery in the heart of the Mexican state of Jalisco. The bottlings in the so-called Square Range use high-quality Blue Weber agaves sourced from both the Tequila Valley and the Los Altos highlands. The brand’s concept draws on the Aztec legend of the eagle and the snake, which is closely linked to the founding of Tenochtitlan, now known as Mexico City.

Bambarria Blanco Jalapeño combines the clear, unadulterated base of a young agave spirit with the distinctive profile of the jalapeño chilli. With an alcohol content of 35 per cent, this variant within the Bambarria Square Range is deliberately bottled at a slightly lower strength. Due to the legal requirements for tequila, the 35 per cent bottle is not marketed as tequila in European shops, but correctly as an agave spirit. The combination of Mexican production, blue Weber agave and jalapeño makes the 0.7-litre bottle particularly appealing for modern cocktails, margaritas and spicy long drinks.

Tasting Note

Colour: Clear.

Nose: Fresh agave with herbal notes and a distinct hint of jalapeño, accompanied by green and slightly peppery accents.

Palate: Fresh and spicy with agave, green jalapeño and a gradually building, pleasantly piquant heat.

Finish: Spicy and lingering with fresh agave, green pepper and a piquant jalapeño note.

Bambarria Blanco Jalapeño is particularly well-suited to spicy cocktails and modern takes on Mexican classics. To make a Spicy Margarita, shake 5 cl of Bambarria Jalapeño with 3 cl of fresh lime juice and 2 cl of agave syrup over ice, then strain into a glass with a salt rim. Alternatively, the agave spirit can be combined with grapefruit lemonade and lime to create a zesty Paloma variation. The spicy jalapeño flavour also pairs very well with tacos, nachos, guacamole or grilled meat.
