Description
Description
Founded in 1743 by Claude Moët in Épernay, France, Moët & Chandon has become a leading name in the champagne market. Jean-Remy Moët, a descendant of the founder, acquired the former Hautvillers monastery in 1794, where the monk Dom Pérignon developed his pioneering champagne production techniques. This was a decisive step that further cemented the quality and reputation of Moët & Chandon.
Links to historical figures such as Napoleon Bonaparte, a close friend of Jean-Remy Moët, helped to promote the champagne during international campaigns and boosted its popularity worldwide. Moët & Chandon has always remained based in Épernay and has become synonymous with high-quality champagne.
1987 marked another milestone when Moët Hennessy merged with Louis Vuitton to form the luxury goods group LVMH, which is now known worldwide for its exclusive products.
Moët & Chandon Champagne IMPÉRIAL Brut, made from the Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier grape varieties, is carefully protected from oxidation during production. This serves to preserve the grapes’ original fruitiness. Malolactic fermentation is also used to soften the acidity of the grapes. A long ageing period on the lees promotes the development of a fine perlage, whilst a comparatively lower brut dosage emphasises the champagne’s fruity character. Furthermore, the champagne undergoes a maturation period that is, on average, twice as long as that required by law. The champagne is then bottled and sealed with a natural cork.
This At Home Pack contains:
- 6 bottles of Mini Moët & Chandon Champagne IMPÉRIAL Brut 0.2 l
- 6 golden bottle sippers
Celebrate all manner of occasions with Moët & Chandon Imperial, which is perfect for toasting thanks to its golden bottle sipper attachments.
Tasting Note
A clear golden-yellow colour with a greenish tinge in the glass. Even effervescence. On the nose, subtle hints of green apples, roasted cashews and vanilla. Sparkling on the palate, with flavours of white peach, pears and apples. These are complemented by citrus fruits and gooseberries. A long-lasting and full-bodied finish.
Residual sugar: 7 g/l
Serving temperature: 8–10 °C
Moët Impérial is an excellent choice to accompany seafood starters and fish dishes with light sauces. The champagne’s fruity flavours harmonise particularly well with desserts such as a white peach tart or poached baked apples, allowing the flavours of both dishes to come into their own.
