The art of bourbon-making began as early as 1812 on the grounds of the Woodford Reserve Distillery, a nationally recognised historic landmark. When you visit, you can really sense its rich historical heritage. The history of bourbon is closely intertwined with the history of Kentucky and, by extension, that of the United States.

The water used to produce Woodford Reserve is sourced directly from the distillery. It undergoes natural filtration through the property’s limestone deposits. This iron-free, mineral-rich water is a crucial factor in the production process, contributing significantly to the quality and uniqueness of the bourbon.

Woodford Reserve Straight Rye Whiskey is characterised by its carefully selected mash bill, consisting of 53 per cent rye, 33 per cent maize and 14 per cent barley. This composition is typical of many traditional pre-Prohibition American whiskies and gives the whisky a perfectly balanced character.

Colour: Golden-brown honey.

Nose: Spicy, floral, sweet, black pepper, cedar, cassis, marzipan, pears, apples, almonds.

Palate: Rich notes of millet, malt, rye, syrupy undertones with mint, cloves, honey, apples.

Finish: Long-lasting, sweet and spicy.
