The Cotswolds Peated Cask Single Malt Whisky is an exceptional bottling from the renowned Cotswolds Distillery, characterised by perfect craftsmanship and regional ingredients. As one of the few English whiskies, this single malt impresses with intense flavours that are given a special depth and complexity through maturation in former peated casks (peat-smoke casks).

Made from 100% locally grown barley, this whisky is distilled twice in copper pot stills using traditional methods and then matured in casks that previously contained heavily smoky Islay whiskies. The result is a perfect combination of fruity, sweet and peaty notes. With an impressive alcohol content of 59.6 % vol., it is an intense, powerful whisky that will delight both connoisseurs and lovers of smoky whiskies.

Tasting Note

Colour: Deep gold with amber reflections.

Nose: Intense aromas of honey, vanilla and toasted oak, accompanied by subtle smoky notes.

Flavour: Strong and full-bodied with notes of sweet maltiness, dark chocolate and light peat smoke.

Finish: Long lasting with a pleasant blend of spice, sweet fruit flavours and a gentle hint of smoke.

The Cotswolds Peated Cask Single Malt develops its full flavour at room temperature and can be enjoyed with a few drops of water to open up the aromas further. It is an excellent accompaniment to grilled meat, dark chocolate or smoked cheese. Alternatively, it is suitable as a base for a Smoky Old Fashioned, which elegantly emphasises its peaty character.
