Evan Williams Bottled-in-Bond Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whisky, also known as Evan Williams White Label due to its design, combines classic Kentucky bourbon with the strictly regulated requirements of the American Bottled-in-Bond Act. Among other things, a Bottled-in-Bond whisky must originate from a single distilling season and a single distiller, be aged for at least four years in a government-supervised bonded warehouse, and be bottled at exactly 100 proof or 50 per cent alcohol by volume. As a Kentucky Straight Bourbon, Evan Williams Bourbon is also based on a mash containing at least 51 per cent maize and is matured in new, charred American oak casks, which are crucial to the characteristic bourbon style.


Evan Williams is produced by Heaven Hill Distillery, a long-established, family-run whisky producer based in Kentucky. The brand pays tribute to Evan Williams, who made his name as a whisky distiller in Kentucky in the late 18th century. With the White Label, the focus is particularly on its ‘Bottled-in-Bond’ status: the higher bottling strength of 50 per cent provides greater body and also makes the bourbon an interesting choice for classic whisky cocktails. Ageing in Kentucky’s traditional warehouses exposes the casks to seasonal temperature fluctuations, allowing the distillate to interact intensively with the charred oak. As a result, the Evan Williams Bottled-in-Bond 100 Proof is an authentic and robust example of the classic Kentucky bourbon style.

Tasting Note

Colour: Golden amber with copper-coloured highlights.

Nose: Sweet maize, vanilla and caramel, accompanied by oak, brown sugar and a subtle hint of spice.

Palate: Full-bodied and robust, with caramel, vanilla and a hint of sweet maize, complemented by toasted oak, pepper and warm spices.

Finish: Long-lasting and warming, with vanilla, caramel, oaky spice and a pleasantly dry aftertaste.

Evan Williams Bottled-in-Bond can be served neat at around 18–20 °C, with a few drops of water or over a large ice cube. Its 50 % alcohol content and robust bourbon character also make it an excellent base for classics such as the Old Fashioned, Manhattan or Whisky Sour. Food pairings include BBQ, roasted pecans, mature Cheddar or desserts featuring caramel and vanilla. Particularly in cocktails, this 100-proof bourbon has enough intensity to remain distinctly present even alongside other robust ingredients.
