On the rugged coast of the unique Isle of Skye, south of Dunvagan and situated as if by magic right on the shore of a bay, lies the small, snow-white Talisker distillery. Two brothers founded the distillery in 1831. Following their deaths, numerous others attempted to keep the distillery running. All failed, until a financial administrator and a wine and spirits merchant succeeded in taking it over. Talisker was triple-distilled until 1928, after which it was double-distilled. Following a fire in 1960, the distillery was rebuilt true to its original design; today, Talisker is part of the Diageo spirits group.

The Talisker Distillery’s mission is to protect the natural marine environment so that marine ecosystems can thrive naturally. Since 2020, the distillery has been collaborating with the non-profit environmental organisation PARLEY FOR THE OCEANS with the aim of protecting and restoring 100 million square metres of natural marine habitat. Talisker x Parley Wilder Seas represents a commitment to investing in the conservation of the underwater world, with €3 from every bottle produced being allocated to this cause. The bottles for the Wilder Seas edition are produced using Diesel, and the bottles themselves are made from 100 per cent recycled glass.

This limited-edition release is the first to be finished in oak casks that previously held XO cognac. Delicate sea salt and soft notes of plum and raisin reflect the untamed power of the sea in its flavour.

Tasting Note

Colour: Bright amber with reddish highlights.

Nose: Mild, dry, with notes of malt, dried figs, dates, pipe tobacco and smoky notes.

Palate: Creamy and smooth, sweetish, rich, intensely fruity with notes of figs, salty notes, peppery nuances, smoky notes and spicy aromas.

Finish: Long-lasting, warming, slightly dry, smoky and fruity, with hints of pepper.
