A famous surname, five generations. The Glenfarclas Distillery is a family business in the truest sense of the word.
The distillery is situated in Ballindalloch, Scotland, and has been owned by the Grant family since 1865.
This exquisite 50-year-old whisky honours the 50th anniversary of family member and Chairman John Grant, who first entered the whisky industry. This whisky was selected for bottling by Callum Fraser and Managing Director Douglas Belford, and reflects the expertise of the distillery team 50 years ago, led at the time by Distillery Manager Douglas MacDonald.
The single malt is matured for 50 years in used Oloroso sherry casks, which lend it a very special and rich flavour.
Limited to 836 bottles.
Tasting Note
Colour: Copper.
Nose: Rich, figs, exotic fruits, almonds, hints of pralines, chocolate and leather.
Palate: Intense, dark chocolate, caramel, dried fruit.
Finish: Long-lasting, red fruits, pastry notes, hints of tobacco.
