Description
Description
Founded in 1743 by Claude Moët in Épernay, France, Moët & Chandon has become a leading name in the champagne market. Jean-Remy Moët, a descendant of the founder, acquired the former Hautvillers monastery in 1794, where the monk Dom Pérignon developed his pioneering champagne production techniques. This was a decisive step that further cemented the quality and reputation of Moët & Chandon.
Links to historical figures such as Napoleon Bonaparte, a close friend of Jean-Remy Moët, helped to promote the champagne during international campaigns and boosted its popularity worldwide. Moët & Chandon has always remained based in Épernay and has become synonymous with high-quality champagne.
1987 marked another milestone when Moët Hennessy merged with Louis Vuitton to form the luxury goods group LVMH, which is now known worldwide for its exclusive products.
Moët Imperial BRUT, an icon amongst champagnes, embodies seductive elegance and vibrancy. This exquisitely crafted champagne is composed of a carefully selected blend of Pinot Noir, Meunier and Chardonnay grapes. Following a meticulous ageing process that brings out the aromas to perfection, the champagne is bottled and sealed with a natural cork.
The Marquise de Pompadour once summed up the essence of champagne when she said: “Champagne is the only wine in the world that makes every woman beautiful.”
Tasting Note
A clear golden-yellow colour with a greenish tinge in the glass. Even effervescence. On the nose, subtle hints of green apples, roasted cashews and vanilla. Sparkling on the palate, with flavours of white peach, pears and apples. These are complemented by citrus fruits and gooseberries. A long-lasting and full-bodied finish.
Residual sugar: 7 g/l
Serving temperature: 8–10 °C
Ideal for pairing with seafood starters and fish dishes with light sauces. Its fruity flavours harmonise superbly with desserts such as a white peach tart or poached baked apples, allowing the flavours of both components to come into their own.
