The Famous Grouse RUBY CASK Blended Scotch Whisky 40% vol. 0.7 l

Matthew Gloag, the founder’s grandson of the same name, took over the family business 96 years after it was founded in 1800.

A year later, he created a new blend, which he named ‘The Grouse Brand’ (grouse = moorhen), anticipating that many hunters would stop off in Perth during the hunting season.

His daughter designed the accompanying label featuring Scotland’s national bird.

The whisky sold so well straight away that, within just a few years, the name “The Famous” was added and the word “Brand” was simply dropped. And so, to this day, the popular whisky is known as The Famous Grouse.

The Famous Grouse RUBY CASK whisky is part of The Famous Grouse’s Cask Series. Various types of casks are used to create smooth blends with a unique character.

This whisky is matured in casks seasoned with port, which gives it a rich sweetness.

Tasting Note

Colour: Amber.

Nose: Elegant, fresh, with notes of vanilla, cinnamon and fruit cake.

Palate: Well-balanced, with notes of fruit cake, cloves and cinnamon.

Finish: Long-lasting.
