The Benjamin Chapman 7 Years Old Small Batch Whisky 45% is an exceptional Canadian small-batch whisky that combines two grain whiskies, each matured for a different length of time, to create a precisely balanced blend. The blend consists of 51 per cent ten-year-old Canadian rye whisky and 49 per cent seven-year-old Canadian prairie wheat whisky. The rye component is distilled with pure glacier water from the northern Rocky Mountains in traditional pot stills and then matured for more than ten years in charred white oak casks. The wheat whisky, on the other hand, is produced in continuous triple-column stills and matured for at least seven years in American oak casks. This combination brings together the spicy character of the rye with the smooth notes of the wheat.

With an alcohol content of 45 per cent, Benjamin Chapman Small Batch Whisky is both powerful and remarkably smooth. Vanilla, cinnamon and peppery spice are complemented by caramelised apple, dark chocolate and maple syrup, whilst white chocolate and crème brûlée emphasise the softer side of the wheat whisky. The name Benjamin Chapman refers to a mysterious figure whose elegant style also shapes the bottle design. The faceted 0.7-litre bottle is reminiscent of a classic whisky tumbler, whilst golden details and the engraved ‘BC’ signature round off its premium appearance. This 7-year-old Canadian whisky thus combines an elaborate grain blend, long cask maturation and a striking design.

Tasting Note

Colour: Bright amber with pale golden highlights.

Nose: Spicy and inviting with cinnamon and vanilla, accompanied by caramelised apple, dark chocolate and maple syrup.

The Benjamin Chapman 7 Years Old Small Batch Whisky is particularly well suited to being enjoyed neat at around 18 to 20 °C, but can also be served over a large ice cube. In cocktails, it works superbly in an Old Fashioned or a Manhattan, as the rye spice and vanilla remain prominent even when mixed. It pairs particularly well with smoked meats, roast beef, mature Cheddar or roasted pecans. Crème brûlée, dark chocolate or desserts featuring maple syrup and caramel also complement the whisky’s sweet and spicy notes perfectly.
