Loch Lomond Steam & Fire is a remarkable single malt Scotch whisky that derives its unique character from intensive maturation in heavily charred American oak.
The journey of Steam & Fire begins with distillation in a combination of straight-neck and traditional swan-neck pot stills. The whisky is then matured in first-fill bourbon casks and refilled American oak casks.
But the true secret of its character lies in the 10 months spent maturing in heavily charred American oak casks. These casks were carefully charred in Loch Lomond Whiskies’ own traditional coopery.
The inspiration for Steam & Fire comes from the extraordinary distillery itself, a place where technology meets time-honoured craftsmanship.
Tasting Note
Colour: Gold.
Nose: Ripe apples, hints of toffee, cinnamon, vanilla.
Palate: Oranges, peaches, hints of jam, notes of coffee, melted brown sugar, toasted marshmallows.
