On the rugged coast of the unique Isle of Skye, south of Dunvagan and situated as if by magic right on the shore of a bay, lies the small, snow-white Talisker distillery. Two brothers founded the distillery in 1831. Following their deaths, numerous others attempted to keep the distillery running. They all failed, until a financial administrator and a wine and spirits merchant succeeded in taking it over. Talisker was triple-distilled until 1928, after which it was double-distilled. Following a fire in 1960, the distillery was rebuilt true to its original design. Today, Talisker is part of the spirits group Diageo.

The Talisker 30 Year Old is a deep tribute to the distillery’s homeland and a heritage that celebrates the fusion of seafood and whisky, honouring the island’s natural wonders. Matured over three decades, this whisky shines in all its splendour and celebrates the rugged wilderness of its surroundings. Each year, carefully selected American oak casks, previously filled with whisky, are used to produce this special expression. The Talisker 30 Year Old is neither coloured nor chill-filtered and is bottled at its natural cask strength.

In the USA, to mark this remarkable release, Talisker has formed an exciting partnership with Real Oyster Cult. Together, they offer carefully curated pairings of seafood and whisky. This whisky’s coastal origins lend it its characteristic maritime and salty notes, making it an ideal accompaniment to oysters and caviar. These pairings are a true tribute to Talisker’s long tradition of bringing whisky and seafood together.

Nose: Sweetish, peaty, ripe apples, lavender, hints of honey.

Palate: Salty undertones, fruity notes, fireplace smoke.
