The Kaiken winery was founded in 2002 as a sister winery to Montes on the other side of the Andes and has since developed its own identity and built up an excellent international reputation. Under the dynamic and sustainable leadership of Aurelio Montes Junior, who brings a great deal of energy and a spirit of experimentation to the business, Kaiken stands for excellent winemaking in the high altitudes of the Andes. The name ‘Kaiken’ originates from the Mapuche people and refers to the Patagonian wild goose, which regularly crosses the Andes between Chile and Argentina. Inspired by this journey, Montes founded the Kaiken winery in Argentina to produce exceptional wines there.

Kaiken Malbec Estate is an outstanding example of the expressive power of this grape variety on the unique terroir of Mendoza. This elegant and seductive wine captivates with its rich fruit aromas, a diverse palette of flavour nuances and just the right amount of influence from eight months’ ageing in French oak barrels. The vines for this exquisite red wine thrive on nutrient-rich clay soil, which contributes to the development of its complex and balanced flavour profile. With an ageing potential of 4–5 years and sealed with a natural cork, the Malbec Estate offers an authentic wine experience that will delight connoisseurs and wine lovers alike.

Tasting Note

A deep, dark violet colour in the glass. Powerful on the nose, with pronounced berry aromas and subtle spicy notes. Well-structured and intense on the palate, with nuances of berries, coffee, tobacco and dark chocolate. A long-lasting finish.
