Description
The collaboration between the Australian distillery Starward and the Islay distillery Lagavulin has resulted in a limited edition that is available exclusively in Austria.
This Australian single malt whisky from Starward was initially matured in red wine casks and then refined for 18 months in casks from the Lagavulin distillery on Islay, Scotland.
Starward is known for its willingness to experiment, and for this limited edition, smoky Scotch whisky casks from Lagavulin were used – a world-renowned distillery on Islay, famous for its smoky single malt Scotch whisky. This special maturation in Lagavulin casks gives Starward’s Australian single malt whisky a unique and distinctive flavour profile.
The combination of the tropical aromas of the red wine cask whisky with the rich coastal peat of the Lagavulin casks results in a rich and complex tasting experience.
This collaboration highlights the role of casks in whisky production and showcases a unique fusion of flavours and traditions from two renowned distilleries.
