Mackmyra Svensk Rök Swedish Single Malt Whisky is a smoky single malt whisky from Sweden, whose name translates as ‘Swedish Smoke’. The story of Mackmyra began in 1998 during a skiing trip by eight friends, whose shared enthusiasm for whisky gave rise to the idea of establishing their own Swedish distillery. Svensk Rök embodies this independent approach particularly clearly: The barley used is infused with juniper smoke, creating a distinctive Nordic smoky character. Mackmyra relies on local Swedish ingredients and traditional pot-still distillation. The bottle itself is also a tribute to the eight founders, symbolised by eight distinctive indentations on the lower part of the bottle.


Carefully selected cask types are used to mature Mackmyra Svensk Rök, including American oak casks and ex-sherry casks. The interplay of wood maturation, malt and juniper smoke gives this Swedish single malt whisky its distinctive character, setting it apart from classic Scottish peated whiskies. Svensk Rök is bottled at a robust 46.1% in a 0.7-litre bottle, complete with a gift box. The whisky is non-chill-filtered and bottled without the addition of colouring, thereby preserving its original character. Finish: Long-lasting and warming with spicy smoke, juniper, dry oak and a subtle lingering hint of malt.

Mackmyra Svensk Rök is particularly well suited to being enjoyed neat at room temperature, although a few drops of still water can open up the robust 46.1% ABV and bring out additional facets. Culinary pairings: this smoky single malt pairs very well with smoked salmon, grilled meat, game dishes or strong hard cheese.
