The Heinrich St. Laurent is an elegant, delicately fruity red wine from the renowned Weingut Heinrich in Gols, located in the sun-drenched Burgenland region of Austria. Weingut Heinrich, run by Gernot and Heike Heinrich, has enjoyed an international reputation for many years and stands for outstanding biodynamic wines with an authentic terroir character. The St. Laurent grape variety in particular finds ideal conditions in the sunny Gols vineyards to optimally develop its elegant flavours.

For the Heinrich St. Laurent, the grapes are selectively harvested by hand and gently processed in order to authentically emphasise the typical characteristics of the grape variety. Careful fermentation takes place spontaneously with wild yeasts before the wine is carefully matured in large, used wooden barrels. As a result, this red wine develops an impressive balance, fine complexity and subtle flavour.

With a moderate alcohol content of 11.5% vol., the St. Laurent offers a pleasantly fresh, lively drinking pleasure and impressively demonstrates that elegance and lightness go together perfectly.

Tasting Note

In the glass, the Heinrich St. Laurent 2020 presents itself in an attractive, clear ruby red colour with violet reflections. The elegant bouquet delights with fragrant aromas of ripe sour cherries, dark berries and wild raspberries, complemented by subtle hints of herbs, floral notes and fine spicy accents. On the palate, it is fresh, soft and harmonious with velvety tannins and a lively, balanced acidity structure. The finish is fruity and delicately spicy, characterised by light minerality and animating herbal notes.
