Founded by the visionaries Richard and Bernard d’Offay, Takamaka rum is produced at the Trois-Frères distillery, located in the Plaine Saint-André on the island of Mahé.
The Trois-Frères distillery, situated on the Plaine Saint-André on the island of Mahé, began producing its first Seychelles rums in 2002. These rums bear the name ‘Takamaka’ and are named after one of the 23 districts of the island to which they belong.
The rum is initially aged for three years in new French oak casks and is then finished in a cask that previously contained white Pineau des Charentes.
This process produces a rich variety of aromas, in which the flavours of the sweet wine emphasise the rum’s exotic character.
Tasting Note
Colour: Red amber.
Nose: Gingerbread, lilac, cherries.
Palate: Toasted wood, sherry, black cherries.
Finish: Long-lasting.
