This 17-year-old expression comes from a secret distillery on Islay and has been matured for over a decade and a half in ex-bourbon casks, allowing it to develop a perfect balance between smoky peat, maritime influences and sweet vanilla notes. At 50.5% ABV, this whisky is a robust expression that showcases its intense flavours to the full.

Tasting Note

Colour: Golden yellow with coppery highlights.

Nose: Intense peaty smoke with maritime notes, citrus fruits, toasted oak and a hint of vanilla.

Palate: Full-bodied and complex with smoky peaty notes, sweet vanilla, honey, salty sea air and a subtle spiciness from the bourbon casks.

Finish: Long-lasting, warm and multi-layered with notes of smoke, oak and a hint of fruity sweetness.

Port Askaig 17 Years Old reveals its flavours best when enjoyed neat or with a drop of water to mellow the smoky notes and bring out the sweet and spicy accents.
