Description
Description
Champagne Taittinger is a world-renowned champagne house that has been family-owned since 1734. The house owns 260 hectares of vineyards. The house is situated in Saint-Nicaise in Rems, where the champagnes mature in chalk cellars 18 metres below ground. These cellars date back to Roman times.
The grapes are harvested by hand when perfectly ripe and pressed whole, very carefully, on site, before being fermented in stainless-steel tanks. The rosé champagne matures for four years on its fine lees in the cool, deep, dark chalk cellars. Through regular shaking and turning of the bottle (until it is finally standing on its head), the yeast sediment gradually slides down into the neck of the bottle. This is followed by disgorging to remove the yeast.
Tasting Note
Pale yellow with shimmering highlights in the glass. A delicate and subtle bouquet with aromas of peaches and apricots. Soft, fresh and creamy on the palate, with notes of raisins and fruit. A long-lasting finish.
Grape varieties: 60% Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, 40% Chardonnay.
Soil: Limestone, Brie limestone, belemnite chalk, marl, sand, clay.
Residual sugar: 17.5 g/l.
