Made from carefully fermented Mauritian sugarcane juice, the rum is distilled using traditional methods and then matured in oak casks, giving it its characteristic golden colour and mildly spicy aroma. With an alcohol content of 40% ABV, it is well-balanced – full-bodied yet pleasantly approachable.

Tasting Note

Colour: Golden yellow with slight amber hues.

Nose: Caramel, vanilla, a hint of spice and subtle woody notes.

Finish: Medium-length, pleasantly smooth with a subtle sweetness and oak in the aftertaste.

Mauritius Dodo Gold Rum is excellent enjoyed neat, on the rocks or as a premium base for classic rum cocktails such as the Mai Tai, Dark & Stormy or Rum Old Fashioned. In the kitchen, it can also be used to flavour desserts, rum cake or caramelised fruit.
