The Platzer Winery is situated in the picturesque Styrian Vulkanland, a region renowned for its exceptional wines and fascinating landscape. Nestled amongst rolling hills and surrounded by volcanic soils, the winery offers ideal conditions for growing high-quality grapes. The vineyards are all situated in the immediate vicinity of the winery and, together with partner estates, cover a total area of 35 hectares. The most important vineyard sites include Aunberg, Königsberg, Klöchberg and the Stradner Rosenberg. The vines are intensively tended throughout the growing season to ensure the highest quality and distinctive terroir characteristics. Particular emphasis is placed on sustainable viticulture to conserve natural resources.

For over 40 years, the winery has operated a bottle-washing facility and actively promotes the reuse of bottles to contribute to environmental protection.

The Blaue Zweigelt Klassik is a red wine made from 100 per cent Zweigelt grapes. The vines from which these grapes are harvested grow on medium-textured, lime-free cultivated soils consisting of weathered volcanic rock. Following vinification, this red wine was aged for 5 months in barrels and can be cellared until at least 2028.

Tasting Note

A deep red colour in the glass. On the nose, typical red wine notes unfold, accompanied by delicate aromas of sour cherries and berries. On the palate, the wine is elegant, juicy and well-balanced, with nuances of ripe sour cherries and dark berries. The finish is long-lasting.
