Jacques Senaux Green Absinthe is an intensely flavoured, high-proof green absinthe, produced according to a traditional recipe and characterised by its strong herbal notes and rich green colour. With an alcohol content of 70 % vol. and bottled in an eye-catching 0.7-litre bottle, this absinthe is aimed at experienced connoisseurs seeking the classic absinthe experience in all its facets.

Jacques Senaux Absinthe is produced using selected botanicals, including wormwood (Artemisia absinthium), aniseed, fennel and other aromatic herbs. Its green colour – a hallmark of many traditional absinths – is reminiscent of the legendary ‘Grüne Fee’ of the 19th century, who was a symbol of inspiration for artists, free-thinkers and writers. Its high alcohol content results in a robust flavour profile with a pronounced herbal character and a full body.

Despite its intensity, Jacques Senaux Green remains well-balanced and aromatically complex – ideal for the classic preparation with sugar and cold water, during which the characteristic cloudiness (louche effect) develops.

Tasting Note

Colour: Bright emerald green.

Nose: Spicy and fresh with dominant notes of aniseed, complemented by wormwood, fennel and a hint of lemon balm.

Palate: Full-bodied, dry and herbaceous, with a bittersweet interplay, a slight heat and delicate spice.

Finish: Long-lasting, dry and tart with classic absinthe character.

Best enjoyed the traditional way: slowly drizzle 1 part absinthe with 3–5 parts ice-cold water over a sugar cube into the glass to create the ‘louche’ effect and allow the flavours to unfold. Also suitable for cocktails such as the ‘Sazerac’ or ‘Death in the Afternoon’. Offers exciting culinary pairings with blue cheese, dark chocolate or as a full-bodied aperitif.
