The Discarded Banana Peel Spirit Drink is an example of this sustainable approach. It is based on Caribbean rum that has previously been aged in whisky casks to impart a rum flavour.

After this initial use, the rum is further processed by adding banana peels – a by-product of the food industry. By infusing the rum with the peels for a period of two weeks, these flavours are released and absorbed by the rum. This method results in a spirit drink with a distinctive banana flavour.
